The Spirometer will also be used to determine what percentage of air you can breathe out and the volume will also indicate the stage. Naturally, as has been explained above, while early stages are less serious, the advanced stages can be grave. So you should immediately approach your doctor as soon as you see the symptoms. Sometimes antibiotics are prescribed to cure the condition. Though antibiotics cannot cure the ailment and increase the emphysema life expectancy, but they can at least treat an infection in the lungs, which is quite common in the disease. You should also speak to your friends and family if you are affected and ask for their help and support. Reassure them that the disease is not contagous. |
